Before we filmed we had an lesson allowing us finish the essential parts needed. Firstly we had to make sure we had permission from the lecturer who owns the room and in our case it was Angela. Once given permission we made sure we had our risk assessment done so we were covered if any injuries or damage to the equipment happened, which once filled correctly was signed by Lee Hodgkinson. Once all this was finished we booked the equipment getting a quick run through on how the camera works, what buttons to press and how to put the tape in, as well as how to use the tripod successfully.
When arranging who to have in the film as actors we originally had Sadie Lynham‘s, one of the group members boyfriend, Jack Stanely as the Gangster and her friend Jaz D’avola as the young women doing the “job” but through work difficulties Jack couldn’t make it to college. Sadie however overcame this problem by asking Jaz to ask another person on her performing arts course to take his place. We arranged to meet at the smoking shelter at 4:30 to all go over to the photography room and once met we found out that Jaz’s friend couldn’t play the part on that day. It was a big rush to find someone as we wanted the filming to be done so we had enough to edit and complete it. After a panic we luckily found a friend; Ali who was more than happy to play the part and we went straight to the photography room to get the filming done.
Another problem that occurred was me forgetting the gun which was the main prop of the whole film as it finishes the last shot. Luckily me and Sadie was able to borrow one from the drama department so that problem was quickly overcome.
Once in the photography room I moved the chairs and tables to the outside of the room putting the props of a table and two chairs in the centre where most of the shots were going to be filmed by Nina Wheeler the camera women. As the director it was my place to hand the script out the actors while we set the room up, with the back drop and lights being right. Once everything was correct we began to film.
As the director I had the story board and script on me while being behind Nina to see if the camera angle and framing was right. And also looking for myself making sure everything is in the right place and the continuity of the all the shots worked well.
Overall I think the filming went successfully, we all worked well together knowing what we had to do. We also had all the shots twice or 3 times giving when editing a better outcome as there was more choice.

First skills audit for G321 foundation production
When I was told the group I was in I was pleased as we worked together in the research task so we will have no problem getting on and knowing our roles within the group. Once I was given the information on the preliminary task I instantly had an idea and thought it would be a quick and easy task I could do. Though as I got into the group and we had all the planning to do it started to show that it was not as easy as first thought. I found it difficult to decide initially what idea to have as within the group we came up with many as the task gives instructions but they are so wide. From the initial brainstorm we came to the conclusion of using the idea of a Gangster theme.
Once the idea was finalised we all decided in the group on which roles for who. I decided on taking the role as the director as I thought it would be the best role for me as I came up with the initial idea so had thoughts of what the script could contain and the overall performance. Before writing the script and planning the story board we researched some clips to give us an idea on camera angles and dialect.
